Once again, it's FLUTTR Effect, Count Zero, and Humanwine, this time at the Middle East tomorrow night. And this time with The Cautions, a rock band that I remember from a couple of shows they did at WBRS a few years ago. Pretty good straight 4-piece rock. Last night after the show, I talked to Vessela for the first time in probably more than a year, and asked what she's up to. It seems she and Troy have put all of their other projects on hiatus to focus exclusively on FLUTTR EFFECT. So no more .WAV, Marimbira, Venus Window, or anything else, for now. FLUTTR is playing WBRS's The Joint on Tuesday night, October 19th, at 10:00pm. Free, and open to the public of all ages, with a live broadcast on WBRS 100.1 FM and a webcast on the web site.

I wish I could be there, but I'm in Wisconsin now and should be in California on the 19th.

FLUTTR is changing, a little. I saw them perform on Thursday night at the Sky Bar. At first, they sounded a bit off to me, as if they weren't quite pulling together. Dark Sky is a sort of new monthy dark/goth music night, the third Thursday of every month, at the Sky Bar in Somerville. This month is the fourth one, and the lineup includes a couple of my favorite local bands.
